Essential information for your stay

Humidity Control in Paradise

The Whitsundays' tropical climate means humidity management is key to your comfort.

Pro Tip: Use "Dry Mode"

For optimal comfort, set the AC to "Dry Mode" rather than cooling. This removes moisture from the air while maintaining a comfortable temperature.

Quick Start Guide:

  1. Locate the remote control on the bedside table
  2. Press the MODE button until "DRY" appears
  3. Set temperature to 24-26°C for best results
  4. Close windows and doors for efficiency

Energy-saving tip: The system works best when set and left alone, rather than constantly adjusting.

Alfresco Dining, Australian Style

Your deck features a premium gas BBQ perfect for sunset dinners overlooking the Whitsundays.

Before You Start:

  • Gas Bottle Location: Under the BBQ, secured in the cabinet
  • Spare Bottle: Located in the storage area near the entrance
  • Check the gas level indicator before cooking

Lighting Instructions:

  1. Open the BBQ lid completely
  2. Turn on the gas bottle valve (counter-clockwise)
  3. Turn the control knob to HIGH and press the ignition button
  4. Wait for the "click" and flame to appear
  5. Preheat for 5-10 minutes with the lid closed
Safety First

Always turn off the gas bottle valve after use, not just the control knobs. This prevents gas leaks in the tropical heat.

BBQ tools and cleaning brush are in the drawer below the BBQ.

Keeping Paradise Clean

Proper waste management helps protect the local wildlife and keeps Vue de Bleu pristine.

Wildlife Alert: Cockatoos!

The local Sulphur-crested Cockatoos are intelligent and persistent. They can open unsecured bins and create quite a mess.

Bin Security Protocol:

  1. Always secure lid clips - Both sides must click into place
  2. Place bins in the designated area (side of property)
  3. Don't overfill - compress waste to fit properly
  4. Keep bins closed at all times, even when adding waste

Bin Schedule:

  • General Waste (Red Lid): Collected Tuesdays
  • Recycling (Yellow Lid): Collected Fridays
  • Green Waste (Green Lid): Collected alternate Mondays

Recycling bags are under the kitchen sink. Please rinse containers before recycling.

What Goes Where:

♻️ Recycling: Glass bottles, plastic containers, paper, cardboard, aluminum cans
🗑️ General Waste: Food scraps, soft plastics, contaminated packaging
🌿 Green Waste: Garden clippings, leaves, flowers (no food waste)
